  3. Hi Habib ,Excel is very neglected in the whole office and yet it is very important and useful .Thank you for explaining so well the difference between workbook and worksheet .

    • You are right it is neglected, but the main reason is because people don’t understand it. This is why I have created these lessons and have broken down the technical terms, so even the laymen can understand and be able to use excel to an advanced level. Take care

    You are a great teacher

    • Thank you Jeff – and don’t worry a lot of people don’t even know these 2 words exist in excel, yet they’ve been using excel for years. It is understanding the terminology that makes you a confident user of excel. Knowing how is good, but understanding how is even better 🙂

  10. Hi
Thanks for this. You are right. Understanding the distinction between worksheets and workbooks is important. I assume it is easier to cross-reference cells between worksheets in the same workbook than it is to cross-reference to cells in a sheet in a different workbook. If the second workbook cannot be found, or the file has been moved or deleted this must cause a problem. All important issues.
    Thanks
    Andy

    • Yes Andy it is so much easier for the links within the same workbook. Linking different workbooks are great and work superbly, but you have to make sure they are stored and managed correctly. I will be doing tutorials on linking worksheets and workbooks soon 🙂

I have learnt so much in such a small amount of time. Your explanations and demonstrations are awesome, very easy to follow, and you speak in a language I can understand and follow, not using technical terms like I’ve come across from other videos on YouTube.

  14. This was very clearly explained. I find the usage of a workbook very practical and easy. I use them as organizers, to keep track of items, products, ideas, or anything I can use for my work or projects.

    Reply
    • Yes Christine, you can use each worksheet for one item or topic within the workbook – just like a simple diary or planner. Thanks
