What to do When You Have Dry, Chapped and Tingling Lips

What to do when you have dry, chapped and tingling lips that you can’t stop licking.

I experienced this very same scenario a couple of years ago. I tried many things that I knew and researched about it, but nothing worked.

I got to a point when my lips were so sore and I was finding it difficult to talk!

Got NO Help!

My GP was not recommending me anything effective so I had to go to Accident and emergency! No serious treatment was given there either as I expected.

Found the Solution by CHANCE

I was fed up and popped into my local ‘The Body Shop’ and asked the shop assistant for some advice. She kindly showed me some lip butter. I picked one up and bought it, but I was thinking it might be same as the rest of the treatments I had.

I took the lip butter home and put it on my lips. Straightaway I started to feel the tight and tingling sensation from my lips were slowly fading away.

I felt good!

So I applied the lip butter again at night time before bedtime. What a relief it was in the morning. I felt my usual self was back. I was in a good mood after a long time.

If you want to try using the same lip butter as i did, then click on the picture below.

I highly recommend this lip butter if you have a similar situation with you and nothing seems to be working, then try this as you might be surprised as I was. It was a:

“lip saver for me”

  1. I live in a sunny climate where we don’t see the winter. My lips often get dry and chapped, and sometimes sunburned. This can be very painful and takes days (or over a week) to get better. I try to keep lip balm on them when I am out in the sun, but that is not always a cure. The lip butter looks like a great solution! Do you know if the lip balm has an SPF?

    • Hi Matts Mom, I would love to live in a place like yours! There is no mention of SPF on the packaging, so I’m not sure. Best checking it online or in store. Kind Regards

  2. I also think of applying it before bedtime. However is this hypoallergenic as my skin is quite sensitive?

    • Good idea Furkan, as I also apply it at bedtime. My skin is also quite sensitive and I’ve been fine using it. But I’m not sure if it is hypoallergenic. Thanks for your comments.

  3. Nice tip!
I get especially dry and cracked lips from riding my motorbike on long trips. I have tried everything under the sun so I can’t wait to try out this product!
I have found that butters are more effective than jells or the like. They last longer and give better protection.

    Thanks again for sharing!

    • Hi Tim, I’ve experienced the same effect with this lip butter compared to everything else I tried under the sun. Hope this helps you the way it helped me. all the best. Kind Regards

  4. Interesting! I have seen that lip butter in the Body Shop stores but have not tried it, so I will consider that the next time I am out shopping.

Was anyone able to tell you why that happened to your lips? When it happens to me, I know that it is because of stress.

    • Yes Irma, I definitely recommend this if you have a similar situation to what I had. I definitely works! In terms of the underlying issue, Yes I was under a lot of stress at the time and therefore it could be the cause. Otherwise I’m perfectly fit and healthy. Kind Regards

  5. Hello nice idea, I got some rough experience on dry lips as I do my inline skating activities and it becomes a hectic factor to me. I have tried several lip balm without that much help…I will try and make out with the product you suggested.
    Thank you.

    • Hi Matthew, Gosh I can understand your situation and it can be difficult to focus on your task if you have a similar situation like this one. Yes definitely give this lip balm a go and let us know how you got on. All the very best to you.
